This is another local fishing spot offshore from Adelaide, the John Robb. A sailing ship built in Port Adelaide in 1879 which sank in 18m of water due to a storm in 1910. It was well known as a good Snapper and King George Whiting spot but has become less reliable over the years due to continuous fishing pressure. I was very surprised to see tyres dumped on the wreck.

Discovered under the sea in southern Australia Mordor sheds light on underwater eruptions. A region consisting of underwater volcanoes, resembling the fictional Mordor of the Lord of the Ring series, was discovered under the sea in southern Australia by researchers. The discovery was made by a team of researchers from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, the University of Adelaide, Australia, and the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization CSIRO, Australia. According to a report on the site of the University of Aberdeen, the volcanic area was similar to Mordor due to its irregular peaks and outcrops that had never been seen before. The research team used a new three-dimensional seismic reflection information to map the area, which lies deep in the sediment at the bot...

Rescued by the Australian Marine Wildlife Research and Rescue Organisation washed up on the shores of Adelaide, severely malnourished and weak weighing only 5kgs and with only one eye, it was not certain that this young fur seal - estimated to be between 15 to 18 months old - would survive. Nursed back to health gradually and patiently, the AMWRRO realised that this fragile creature could not be returned to the wild and that the only chance of his survival therefore would be to find a facility that could replicate his own environment and seamlessly introduce him to a seal population. UnderWater World with its seal facilities and experience with seals was the perfect choice.
